MERCH CONSULTING

Beth’s life in merch began in 2008, when she started working full time for musician Amanda Palmer and quickly discovered her talent for design and her great love of awesome t-shirts.  From there, she went on to collaborate with Amanda on the launch of Post-War Trade, a boutique  merchandising company that began with handmade items, but quickly expanded to include traditional items like shirts and vinyl alongside odder offerings like hand-painted ukuleles, hurricane glasses, custom holiday cards and more.  During her time as the head of Post-War Trade, Beth oversaw a huge operation that processed and fulfilled an average of 1600 orders per month from a third-floor Brooklyn loft.

While merch is now a much smaller part of Beth’s daily life, she still loves helping independent artists make a living doing what they love.  Her merch consultation offerings include long-term planning, vendor recommendations, design guidance, budgeting & sales projection, online store set-up, fulfillment advice, and overall merch troubleshooting.  She is happy to work with artists and small businesses on projects of all types, ranging from huge Kickstarter campaigns to the indie-est of EP releases.

Beth’s merch life also includes periodic touring in the US and Canada with Purity Ring, a dynamic duo from our frozen neighbor to the north, and Cut Copy, a rad band from the land down under.
